5 Must Have Marketing Podcasts

Podcast Image

Podcast ImagePodcasts have exploded in popularity over the past few years and have become fantastic resources for marketing pros. From how-to podcasts with tips and tricks to big picture thinking, there are podcasts for everyone. Hopefully your daily commute lends itself to podcasts (like my 30-minute door-to-door DC Metro commute does).

Take a look at my top 5 marketing podcasts:

1. Six Pixels of Separation

Mitch Joel with Twist Image Media (recently acquired and renamed Mirum) has a weekly interview-format podcast with marketing luminaries. He’s done over 400 episodes its lasting appeal is the variety of big picture thinkers that Mitch brings to the show each week. I can’t recommend this blog enough and have been inspired many, many times. If you don’t like interview formats then this may not be the best podcast for you.

2. The Hubcast

Marcus Sheridan and George B. Thomas of The Sales Lion rock out this lively and relatively new podcast each week. They focus on Hubspot tools, tips and tricks as well as inbound marketing news. Take note, this podcast focuses on inbound marketing and the Hubspot platform in particular (although according to the hosts they have both Hubspot customers and non-Hubspot customers alike listening to the show).

3. Marketing Smarts from MarketingProfs

This weekly podcast features interviews with marketers of all types (mostly well-known marketers given MarketingProfs leadership in the industry). Hosted by Kerry O’Shea Gorgogne, these 20-30 minute episodes are shorter in length but long in content. Rainmaker.FM – a new entrant with roughly 25 episodes so far, this CopyBlogger podcast is geared toward building your digital and marketing platform (or becoming a customer of the Rainmaker platform, a competitor to Hubspot and other marketing and sales automation platforms). CopyBlogger CEO Brian Clark and VP of Marketing Robert Bruce talk everything from content curation to blogging to marketing automation. This is a must-listen-to podcast.

4. The Lede by CopyBlogger

Yes, a second CopyBlogger podcast that is indispensable for marketers. If you’re not familiar with CopyBlogger you need to be. Initially they specialized in copywriting and content marketing but have now expanded into software development with the new Rainmaker platform. These guys walk the walk. The Lede is a weekly short-form podcast hosted by Jared Morris, CopyBlogger’s Director of Content. The show focuses on copywriting, content marketing, email marketing, conversion optimization and a whole lot more.

5. Mad Marketing

Ok, I here’s another podcast including Marcus Sheridan. I added it to the list because Marcus Sheridan is a total hoot and is super-knowledgeable on all things inbound and digital marketing. He runs a swimming pool business in southern Virginia and, through inbound marketing success, has become a thought leader in the marketing industry and a regular keynote speaker. Don’t miss this lively and informative podcast.

Below are some podcasts that have come and gone from my daily list for various reasons but may be right for you.
